Best shoe of 2017?

"The 1 of 1 Gucci clogs made by Gucci and Amir Sadrieh for Chef Michael Voltaggio.

What needs to stay in 2017?

"Negativity. Now I know it is important to keep a delicate balance of good and evil, right and wrong, positive and negative, so on and so forth but people in 2017 -- I felt were holding on to negativity for absolutely no reason. We gotta be about putting each and everyone before us and know that quality of life dramatically increases when you remove those things that create a dark space in your thought process. Be real. Understand that people need encouragement."

Miles Richardson

Best shoe of 2017?

"Nike OG Air Max 1 -- red, royal and obsidian. My favorite release of 2017 was Nike celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Air Max 1. They did everything correct, starting with the shape of the silhouette, all the way down to the box. All three colorways are timeless classics that will always be relevant and will always have the heart of any fan of sneakers."

What are you looking forward to in 2018?

"Seeing what brands are going to be bringing back and come out with that is new to this dense market. I am particularly excited about Nike retroing the Atmos animal Air Max 1 and 95 that originally dropped in 2007."

Jared Riley

"NikeCraft Tom Sachs Mars Yard 2.0 and Vans x Sole Classics Old Skool "Dress Blue" is my runner up."

Best Album of 2017?

"DAMN. No questions lol."

Sleeper of 2017?

"Vans x Alyx authentic. No sneaker in 2017 was that clean, yet so emphatic. Sleeper albums of 2017 were K.R.I.T. 4eva is a Mightly Long Time and Ty$ Beach House 3."

Travis Clements

Best album of 2017?

"Vince Staples "Big Fish Theory." Plenty of underground listeners would agree Vince Staples is one of the most slept on artist in his genre."

What needs to stay in 2017?

"Man, that question can contain multiple answers. The whole dad shoe aesthetic some brands are putting out. Let's stop before it goes too far smh."

Best shoe of 2017?

"KITH x Nike Lebron 15. With the Lebron 15 already being one of the best silhoueetes in the series, Ronnie Fieg puts his own lifestyle twist. Even going as far as adding a new strap system creating more support for your on or off court wear."

Sleeper of 2017?

"Yeezy 700."

Mike Buchsie

Best collaboration (streetwear or sneakers) of 2017?

"Off-White x Nike

A collab that really needs no introduction. Yet to this day, it still amazes me. When initial leaks of the reconstructed Air Jordan 1 surfaced, it met mixed reception. But then it seemed like leak after leak was coming, all featuring a new shoe. The fact that Nike really handed the keys over to Virgil for this collab is what surprised me the most. How often is there a 10 shoe collab, that covers almost every corner of Nike’s market from marathon running to basketball, oh and incorporate one of the hottest designers and streetwear names. Whether you think it was played out or not, this collab was truly nuts."

What needs to stay in 2017?

"true religion denim / bad denim in general. Sneaker culture has always had one thing that drives me nuts, buying shoes that cost upwards of $700 dollars, and matching them with terrible pants that cost like $30. Don’t take this personal, I used to buy cheap denim myself. Spoil yourself, go buy yourself a pair of raw or selvedge denim and see the difference. Don’t like skinny fit? Don’t worry my man / woman, they have straight and slim too. Leave the bad denim in the past and burn the bridge, don’t look back, sprint the other way, whatever it takes. Your shoes, fit, and self will be happy."

What needs to stay in 2017?

"The thing that needs to stay in 2017 to me and what is relevant to what we do here at Sole Classics is the feeling of entitlement that has shown itself at an alarming degree this year. I just like all shoe shoppers have an astounding amount of care and interest in what I research and buy footwear wise. One thing I’ve come to understand however is to count your blessings and just be appreciative of what you can get. This year I’ve seen mass amounts of chaos for new enthusiasts that feel as though destruction and mob mentality will get them what they deserve for waiting in line or whatever the case may be. Having negative feedback and words for not getting what you thought you should be able to buy just because you showed up doesn’t resonate well with the seller. Just garner a little more common sense, respect, and patience please. There’s always another pair that will catch your eye I promise."

Best collaboration (streetwear or sneakers) of 2017?

"Best collab of the year in my eyes were the Kith Sport Air Maestros that dropped in a collection honoring Scottie Pippen. For me it resonates in a nostalgic sense and also excites me for the endless possibilities and adjustments that can be made to a shoe to enhance it’s look. The heightened ankle and zipper tooling combined with the rich suede featured on the purple pair which is my personal favorite just made this the pinnacle for me."

Briana Holmes

Best album of 2017?

"Hip Hop -- DAMN by Kendrick. Runner up for me is Cozy Tapes Vol. 2 by A$AP Mob. I love Twelvy. R&B is probably Sabrina Claudio. She had a great breakout year."

What needs to stay in 2017?

"Yeezys. but I know they're rolling over to 2018 :("
